1. Savage(n.): (chiefly in historical or literary contexts) a member of a people regarded as primitive and uncivilized. Plural: Savages
    Savagery(n.): 1. The quality of Being fierce or cruel 2. (chiefly in historical or literary contexts) the condition of being primitive or uncivilized

2. We are reading a history textbook from 1887 and discussing how they describe the Native Americans and how it would've swayed our views on them had we used these textbooks and learned history in that time period. 

3. If I was an American student during that time period using that textbook, it would cause me to have a negative and derogatory attitude towards Native Americans. It often refers to the Native Americans as savages and often brings up how they were cruel and animalistic in the ways they communicated and acted, especially through their hunting habits.
